Did I miss God?

During my Chinese New Year family trip to Zhong Shan, I have not brought along with me the Bible so QT for me could only be meditation of His Words and prayers between 16 - 21 Feb 2007. How did I feel?

Well, I could strong feel God is still always besides me but in terms of enhancing discipline through Bible Words, there was definitely a minus. I come to aware why reading Bible is a gifted moment to me.

When we visited my mom's home town during the trip, the elders of her villiage asked us to burn some insane for the adcendants. We (my mom, my sister, me and even my children) were able to decline politely saying that we are Christians and they also accepted without any bad feeling. Isn't it wonderful be authentic and faithful in God and he will handle the rest even in front of a group of traditional thinking elders.

Did I miss God? Yes, I do , I do.

I remember the quiet moment I enjoy sharing with God daily. He cleanses my evil thinkings, gives me blessings and guides my day with spiritual wisdom. I am in serenity.

During whichever the trips, there was always distractions here and there. Desires and strong wills to find excitement and enjoyment of the fresh is a temptation. I found this kind of life style could not be lasting too long otherwise it will dry out my nurtured purity.

In what areas do you need to be self-disciplined?

2 Timothy 1:7 says: "For God did not gives us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."

I am happy that the above scripture has reminded me not to timid to expressing I am God's disciple. Discipline in pleasure is an ultimate protection to our faithful purity. Amen!I look for self-discipline in:
  • not seeking fresh pleasure
  • daily connection with God
